SV Angel Raises Growth Fund, Adds Ashvin Bachireddy, Promotes Beth Turner
When we think back on the 30 year history of SV Angel, we’re continually honored to have had the opportunity to advocate for founders building for the future. Our strategy has always been to partner with you, the founder, from the earliest stages and help throughout your journey.
Ron founded SV Angel to scale up and codify the style of investing he is best known for, which has led to some of the most legendary companies of our time. Over the years, he, along with Topher, have set the foundation for our SV Angel team to put founders first and to roll up our sleeves to assist when things get tough. Whether it be Google, Twitter, Facebook, Airbnb, Coinbase, Stripe, or Pinterest, we’ve seen almost every scenario in company building, and we use this experience to help where and when it matters most.
That’s why we’re excited to announce SV Angel Growth Fund I — and our ambition to bring more of what we’re known for in the ecosystem, into the growth stage. We’re expanding on our philosophy of removing barriers for founders and being what some of you have called a “quick reaction force” to jump in and help solve seemingly impossible problems as you go from seed to IPO.
With the launch of SV Angel Growth Fund I, we’re excited to announce Ashvin Bachireddy will be joining the firm as the Managing Partner of our growth fund, co-managing alongside Topher and Ron. We’ve known and respected Ashvin’s style of working with founders since we met him during his days as an investor at Andreessen Horowitz. With over 17 years of growth stage experience, Ashvin has a track record of partnering with many leading startups including investments in Airbnb, Confluent, Databricks, HashiCorp, Snyk, UiPath, and Netskope. You’ll be seeing more of Ashvin as he brings his experience in the growth stage to the entire SV Angel portfolio.
Beth Turner, who many of you know well, is also being promoted to Managing Partner of our seed fund. Beth joined our team in 2017 and brings 10 years of early stage investing and startup experience to the table. At SV Angel, she has promoted and worked with companies like Cedar, Mercury, Dapper Labs, Mammoth Biosciences, Flock Safety, Clara, Airbyte, Chainalysis, NEAR Protocol, Drata, and MainStreet. Beth, alongside Topher, Ron, and Partner Steven Lee, will continue investing in 50–60 companies per year, as we’ve done for decades, and continue to support you as you build what we know will be some of the most influential companies of our time.
Ron and Topher will continue co-managing both funds, actively investing, and helping founders navigate their biggest challenges in high-touch moments.
